The cow shed photo in this post isn’t the main focus; it’s just an extra shot I took while editing my Milky Way photos from Pakisan. Pakisan is a village in Singaraja, Bali, and it’s a fantastic spot for capturing starry night skies. I decided to go there after checking the Light Pollution Map and seeing that the village has very low light pollution—making it ideal for astrophotography. When it comes to light pollution, it’s not just the glow from busy city lights that can interfere with your shots; even the bright light of a full moon can be an issue. For the best astrophotography, it’s best to shoot during the new moon, or Tilem as it’s called in Balinese.
Once I found this low light pollution area, I copied the coordinates into Google Maps to find a place to stay nearby. That’s when I came across Villa Markisa Pakisan, which had amazing reviews. I decided to book a stay there, and I wasn’t disappointed—it was a beautiful spot, surrounded by rice fields and hills.
The villa itself offers stunning views of the hills, nearby villages, and gorgeous sunsets. If you’re planning a trip to Bali and want to soak in the beauty of nature in a peaceful setting, Villa Markisa Pakisan is definitely a place worth staying at during your visit.
